Collectible Wheels requires classic, well documented, collectible Japanese and German cars.

What makes something collectible? Is it an item's technical or aesthetic value? Perhaps a current or perceived future monetary value? Or could it be a sentimental value? Whether you collect stamps, porcelain pigs or automobiles, it is because these things speak to you on some level, because you enjoy them and they reflect a piece of you. In the world of collecting cars, classic American and European marques have always been treasured for their power, beauty and special character. Yet, to this point, 80's and 90's Japanese and German cars have not enjoyed the same treatment-but as time passes, this will surely change.
We at Collectible Wheels are avidly on the Hunt for Classic Japanese and German Cars from the 80’s and 90’s.

Chevrolet Corvette C1 1959 Model

The Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the Corvette sports car produced by Chevrolet. It was introduced late in the 1953 model year, and produced through 1962. The Corvette was rushed into production for its debut model year to capitalize on the enthusiastic public reaction to the concept vehicle,
As with the 1958 Corvette before it, the power train of the ‘59 Corvette was unchanged from previous years - with one exception: the addition of trailing radius rods. Of course, better handling also meant better overall performance, and the 1959 Corvette proved it at the test track.  The 1959 Corvette was considered to be remarkably fast - and notably fast even by today's standards. The interior received minor. Both the door handles and the armrests were repositioned and a small storage compartment was added beneath the passenger side grab bar.  In addition, both the driver and passenger seats were redesigned to offer increased lateral support. All speedos indicated up to 7,000 rpm and offered redline and safe limit indicators. Sun visors were introduced to the 1959 Corvette as a new option and concave instrument lenses replaced the flat covers of the 1958 Corvette, thereby reducing sun glare (and other reflections) Lastly, a T-handle manual transmission lockout was included to prevent drivers from accidentally putting their Corvettes in reverse. Time to make your early Corvette dream come true? Have you been hankering for a piece of rolling hi-power performance art? Well this is the car for you then. The car is exceptionally original and had a blow over many years ago. The interior, dash, motor and roof are all original. The car has recently been serviced and drives like a dream. This a real honest car a real price.

BMW Z4 Coupé (E86) 2009 model

Over the Z4 E86 life cycle (2006–2008), only 4275 Z4M coupes (E86) were produced worldwide,
The BMW Z4 E86 Coupé offers supreme harmony in style, concept, and technology, the car's performance impressively confirming the expectations aroused from the start by the powerful and elegant design lines.
The Z4 M shares the same engine as the E46 BMW M3, but due to gearing differences, is marginally slower than the M3.
The M Coupe does not make any excuses for what it is. It shouts, "I am a manic piece of machinery that loves to play rough and if you are not careful I will bite your head off!" You'll want the Z4 M Coupe, in its day, it was the most focused car in BMW's entire line up. With its clear forms and designs, the interior has a sporting and purist touch.

BMW E46 M3 2001 Model

The E46 M3, first introduced in October 2000, appeared worldwide with the new 3.2 L S54 M-tuned engine. It was only available in coupe and convertible bodies as the saloon version had been dropped. While the 1st generation – the E30 – has a place in history, the BMW E46 M3 was able to take what was done before and take it to greater heights.
This car is a great driver’s car, plus it has the perfect footprint that made BMWs legendary.
The last M3 coupe was produced in Germany on 5 July 2013, replaced by the F82/F83 M4 Coupe and convertible starting with the 2015 model year but the M3 name will remain in use for the saloon version.

BMW M3 CSL E46 2004 model

Very few cars driving around worldwide are actually extraordinary. Once in a while we come across a very special type of car. It might be special for its rarity, jaw-dropping looks and performance, handling or a combination of all of the above.
BMW E46 M3 CSL is such a car. CSL stands for “Coupe Sport Lightweight”. First appearing in 1972, the 3.0CSL homologation special model was very successful in racing, thus securing BMW’s position amongst motorsport giants.
The M3 CSL is a lightweight, stripped out, hard-core light weight version of the standard car. It also gets a power bump to its 3.2 litter straight-six engine. The  horsepower figure may not sound like a lot by today’s standards, but considering the CSL weighs in at around 3,053 lbs (240 lbs less than the standard M3), it’s more than enough to turn the CSL into a rocket. The BMW’s SMG (sequential manual gearbox) of the time was the smoothest unit ever made, it allows for lightning quick shifts. The CSL adopted many weight saving technologies from BMW's Formula One racing applications.
A total of 1,383 E46 M3 CSLs were produced to European specification between June and December of 2003 in both left-hand drive (841 built) and right-hand drive (542 built) configuration.  Available in only two colours, silver grey metallic and black sapphire metallic. Only 65 ever got to South Africa.
This CSL offers one of the finest driving experiences available. The example that we have for sale is car number: 47 and has a mere 80000km on the clock. Full service history ,books and spare keys. Three owners from new.
Could the E46 M3 CSL be the best car to come out of BMW M division?

Meet the car money that money can buy. It is called the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and it's what happens when the German maker's regular mid-sized sedan goes on a diet of steroids. In this case, however, it has swallowed the whole bottle at once. It is called a C63 because, according to German regulations, the engine capacity must be rounded up, even though the capacity in cubic centimetres is 6208cc. It was built to take sales away from BMW's lust worthy M3 coupe, and give Porsche 911 customers the option of a fast four-door sedan.
The mileage on this car does not do it justice in the cleanliness and condition department. Fitted with ABS, Air bags, Aircon, Alarm, Climate control, Cruise control, Electric Windows, Full service record, Leather seats, Park distance control, Sat nav, Sunroof, Xenon lights , V8, AMG, Harmon Kardon sound, Immaculate condition, Fantastic value.

Alfa Super Touring Spider 1959 Restoration Project.

The Spider, produced from 1958 to 1961, was Alfa Romeo’s flagship open touring car, offering a more luxurious and refined package than the smaller 1,300-cc Giulietta Spider. The 2000 was a true open GT car, capable of a comfortable 100+mph long-distance cruising speed. Fewer than 3,500 of these Spiders were produced over approximately four years.
With the telephone number prices fully restored examples are going for currently this is a perfect car for an owner who is prepared for a restoration project which won’t break the bank and will probably will have some change left over once the project is completed.
The car is a non-matching numbers car, 2000 chassis with a 2600 motor. All the paper work is up to date and the car is licenced. The car runs and has a huge amount of extra parts to go with it including the original seats. The soft top is in extremely good condition and works. There will definitely be a profit in this car once restored.

Alfa Spider Series 1 1968

The Alfa Spider Series 1 1966 to 1969.Thanks to its popularity by the Dustin Hoffman film “The Graduate “ and the short 3 year production of Duettos and the Round – Tailed 1750cc derivatives are generally the most basic in spec , the rarest and most sought after. In response to the European engine displacements taxes a smaller 1300cc Spider became available called the Junior. Whilst the car was the Junior of the lot it was exactly the same as the bigger siblings except for uncovered headlights and the centre console.
The car that we have for sale is a non-matching numbers car. It is a Junior body with a 1750cc engine. The car has been restored from top to bottom including the interior and carpets. The soft top roof is in excellent condition and fits snuggly into place.

During the 1960s and 1970s Alfa Romeo took advantage of a tax loophole when exporting their products to South Africa. Right hand drive vehicles for this important market were built in Milan alongside those destined for other countries but they were removed from the production lines just before completion. The relatively minor final assembly (rumored to be as little as bolting the wheels on, though instillation of the engine may have also been undertaken) was carried out in Alfa’s factories in South Africa. The result back then of this 2 stage production process was a far more favorable rate of tax and hence a more competitive retail price.
The car has been resprayed the body, boot, bonnet and doors align absolutely perfect like the day the car was built. The dash is near perfect with two hairline cracks appearing. The interior is original and is in pristine condition. It is a non-matching numbers vehicle with a 2,0 litre motor been fitted. This is definitely a near perfect example of a very sort after Alfa. The chrome is in excellent condition and the car has no rust what so ever.

The name was inspired by the name of the Italian ski resort Cortina d'Ampezzo, site of the 1956 Winter Olympics. As a publicity stunt, several Cortina’s were driven down the bobsled run at the resort which was called Cortina Auto-Bobbing. Up to and including 1981, the Cortina was the bestselling car in Britain. In March 2009 it was revealed that the Cortina was still the third most popular car ever sold there, The British punk rock band The Clash reference the car in the song Janie Jones, singing "He's got a Ford Cortina that just run without fuel."

The example that we have for sale must be the lowest genuine mileage car in South Africa. The car has just 48910km on the clock with a full service history and owner’s manuals. The condition of the rear seats makes one think that they have never been sat on. This is a genuine two owner vehicle that has been meticulously looked after. Production was stopped in 1982 however this car was delivered on the 1 August 1983 making it probably one of the very last ever sold.

MG TC 1948 model

Fully Restored, Matching numbers.

During World War II production of MG's ceased as the MG Car Company was put into service for the war effort making tanks and airplane parts, and other military items.
The TC was the first post-war MG launched in 1945. So successful were they that, in the cars four-year production run, from 1945 till 1949, some 10,000 TC's were built, a substantial number of which were shipped to the USA where they were to generate new enthusiasm for sports cars and motor sport.
It is quite remarkable how a car which was basically a "stop-gap" should have enjoyed so much success, generating sales figures far beyond those experienced before the war.
In all, the MG TC offers a cheerful way to experience motoring as it was at the dawn of the post-war era.
The car has had a full restoration and is in superb condition, all the necessary paper work is up to date.

Porsche 944 S 1987 Model 201320km.

For the 1987 model year, the 944S "Super" was introduced. The 944S featured a high performance normally aspirated, dual-overhead-cam 16-valve version of the 2.5 L engine. This marked the first use of four-valve-per-cylinder heads and DOHC in the 944 series, derived from the 928 S4.  Like the 944 Turbo, the 944S received progressive springs for greater handling, larger front and rear anti-roll bars, revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 2.5 L DOHC higher 6800 rpm rev limit.
The car has had a blow over paint job, however the rest of the car is totally original. The mileage does not do justice to the condition of the vehicle. There are not rattles when you drive the vehicle, everything is sturdy and in exceptionally good condition. The car has just recently had a total mechanical make over, with a brand new top end done , new cam belts , valves , timing chain tensioners , air condition re-gas , new water pump fitted , injectors ect replaced.

Citreon D Super Barn Find.

The Citroën DS is a front-engine, front-wheel-drive executive car manufactured and marketed by the French company Citroën from 1955 to 1975 in sedan, wagon/estate and convertible body configurations.
The DS came third in the 1999 Car of the Century poll recognizing the world's most influential auto designs.
The car featured a novel hydro pneumatic suspension including an automatic levelling system and variable ground clearance developed in-house by Paul Magès. This suspension allowed the DS to travel quickly on the poor road surfaces common in France.
D Super (1970–75)
The D Super was available with the DS21 2175ccm engine and a 5 speed gearbox, and named the D Super 5.The DS was built and sold in South Africa from 1959 to 1975.
This car is a true 100 % original barn find, never been touched still with the selling dealers sticker in the rear window. The car still drives perfectly and the Key Feature is that the hydro pneumatic suspension is in perfect working order. The interior is original and the body is suffering from surface rust.
In 2015 we celebrated 60 years of DS – which it’s fair to say has helped shape modern motoring.
Don’t miss out on a piece of motoring history as these cars don’t come on the market very often.
