The Concours d’Elegance has its roots in 17th century France, when the aristocracy would parade their horse-drawn carriages through the parks of Paris. With the advent of the automobile, Concours d’Elegance events evolved into competitions between automobile manufacturers, custom coachbuilders, and owners, whose vehicles were judged on the beauty of their design.
The inaugural Concours South Africa will take place at Sun City from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September 2016 with the main Concours judging taking place on Sunday.
Exclusive in South Africa, Concours SA will bring together the finest classic, luxury and sports vehicles from around the country.
For the first time about 150 of the most prized collector cars will  roll onto the lawns of Sun City, the home of Africa’s Major. Tire meets turf and transformation occurs: the stage is set for one of the most prestigious and competitive events in the automotive world. The occasion is Concours SA hosted by Sun City.
In addition to vehicles parading in their finery, car owners and their partners will be encouraged to dress in chic attire appropriate to the nature of their vehicle. Think J&B Met meats the horseless carriage!
“We see this as an opportunity for owners of these special cars, their pride and joy, to express themselves to the fullest extent” said Ross Chrichton, organiser of Concours South Africa and a veteran supercar aficionado.
“The Sun City venue provides the idea backdrop to showcase South Africa’s finest cars, and the venue enables participants to enjoy the cars and themselves to the fullest over an unforgettable weekend, surrounded by like-minded people.”
Spectator entrance is free, Concours South Africa providing petrol heads of all persuasions to view the country’s most mouth-watering cars even if they are unable to take part in the Concours or Show and Shine.

Entries for the registration of cars has opened and the following categories are available in both Concours and Show and Shine
