Collectible Wheels requires classic, well documented, collectible Japanese and German cars.

What makes something collectible? Is it an item's technical or aesthetic value? Perhaps a current or perceived future monetary value? Or could it be a sentimental value? Whether you collect stamps, porcelain pigs or automobiles, it is because these things speak to you on some level, because you enjoy them and they reflect a piece of you. In the world of collecting cars, classic American and European marques have always been treasured for their power, beauty and special character. Yet, to this point, 80's and 90's Japanese and German cars have not enjoyed the same treatment-but as time passes, this will surely change.
We at Collectible Wheels are avidly on the Hunt for Classic Japanese and German Cars from the 80’s and 90’s.
Please contact us as we have a Data Base of buyers ready to buy.

Porsche 944 S 1987 Model 201320km.

For the 1987 model year, the 944S "Super" was introduced. The 944S featured a high performance normally aspirated, dual-overhead-cam 16-valve version of the 2.5 L engine. This marked the first use of four-valve-per-cylinder heads and DOHC in the 944 series, derived from the 928 S4.  Like the 944 Turbo, the 944S received progressive springs for greater handling, larger front and rear anti-roll bars, revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 2.5 L DOHC higher 6800 rpm rev limit.
The car has had a blow over paint job, however the rest of the car is totally original. The mileage does not do justice to the condition of the vehicle. There are not rattles when you drive the vehicle, everything is sturdy and in exceptionally good condition. The car has just recently had a total mechanical make over, with a brand new top end done , new cam belts , valves , timing chain tensioners , air condition re-gas , new water pump fitted , injectors ect replaced.

Alfa Super Touring Spider 1959 Restoration Project.

The Spider, produced from 1958 to 1961, was Alfa Romeo’s flagship open touring car, offering a more luxurious and refined package than the smaller 1,300-cc Giulietta Spider. The 2000 was a true open GT car, capable of a comfortable 100+mph long-distance cruising speed. Fewer than 3,500 of these Spiders were produced over approximately four years.
With the telephone number prices fully restored examples are going for currently this is a perfect car for an owner who is prepared for a restoration project which won’t break the bank and will probably will have some change left over once the project is completed.
The car is a non-matching numbers car, 2000 chassis with a 2600 motor. All the paper work is up to date and the car is licenced. The car runs and has a huge amount of extra parts to go with it including the original seats. The soft top is in extremely good condition and works. There will definitely be a profit in this car once restored.

Mercedes Benz W123 280CE 1982

When Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 in 1976 at a price they felt was reasonable for the best or nothing, it was a hit. People wanted to buy these cars so much, there was a one-year waiting list, with slightly used cars selling for more than sticker price on the second-hand market.
Today, these Mercs are high on classic car enthusiasts' lists, mostly because W123s don't feel like any other car of the late seventies. They look great, drive well.
The car has 240000km on the clock and has just had a major service, new shocks, disc brakes also replaced. The car has been totally resprayed and the interior has just been completely redone in brand new cloth material. The car drives like the day it was produced.

BMW 325is Evo 2 1992

The 2.7 litre 325iS (commonly called "Evo 1") was created by BMW South Africa to replace the 2.5 litre 325i in Group N production car racing, as a response to the introduction of the Opel Kadett 2 litre 16V to the Class A category. It was launched in the first half of 1990 and was powered by an Alpina-fettled, 2.7 litre M20 engine. The 325iS used aluminium doors, fenders and bonnet and was fitted with the 5-stud race-tuned suspension from the European BMW E30 M3 (which was not sold in South Africa). Following the introduction of the upgraded Opel Kadett 16V SuperBoss, in 1991 BMW South Africa introduced the 325iS Evolution HP (commonly referred to as the "Evo 2") The Evolution HP was equipped with a front splitter/underbody tray to aid high-speed under-floor aerodynamics. The aluminium panels were no longer used, due to cost and repair-ability issues.
The Evolution HP won the Group N Class A title in 1993, winning 20 of the 24 races and setting several lap records in the process. The Robbi Smith and Geoff Goddard Evolution HP won the season-ending 9hr race by 10 laps. This iconic example of South African Motoring History is one of the best kept secrets on planet earth. The car that we have for sale only has 124000km on the clock, pristine original interior with the original tool kit still intact. There are two hairline cracks on the dash, the car has had a professional blow over and a new exhaust fitted. The car comes with the original rims and caps.

IMPORTED TO SA FROM NEW

In the fifties, when the motor cars were more and more built with monocoque constructions, the art of coachbuilding was disappearing. The S1 was derived from Rolls-Royce's complete redesign of its standard production car after World War II, dubbed the Silver Cloud; each was its maker's last standard production car with an independent chassis.
This impeccably restored car is in superb condition. The car was imported new into South Africa. The gorgeous colour combination of black over mink with the tan leather interior definitely take you back in time when cars were cars and no lack of attention to detail went wanting. When you drive this car you feel like you are floating on air.

Mercedes Benz 280 SE. The model was a great success during the years it was offered in the late 1960s and early 1970s often owned by people who required a vehicle for long distance travel. Road & Track gave it good marks for handling and reliability. It was built with four-wheel disk brakes, SOHC V-6 engine, responsive power steering and offered a four speed automatic transmission. A sedan which is very comfortable and a pleasure to drive. The car replaced the older “Fintail” W111 Mercedes. The front had very similar styling to the earlier 111 chassis – in fact, the headlights are identical between the two – but the engine displacement was increased, the instrument cluster redesigned with traditional round gauges, and the rear given a sleek rounded-off-fin makeover.
One of the cleanest totally unrestored and original examples in the country. Original interior, dash and wood. There are slight signs of stone chips on the front showing patina however the car is 100 % original and unpainted. The dash is perfect with the original radio. The car has the original books and owner’s manual.

Mercedes Benz SL500 R129 1997 model

The R129 replaced the R107 in 1989 and featured many innovative details for the time, for instance electronically controlled damping (optional) and a hidden, automatically extending roll-over bar.
The R129 received heightened media attention in Great Britain in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a metallic-red 500 SL and became the first member of the royal family to use a foreign car. This was not without controversy as it sparked a media storm as it questioned whether a member of the British royal family should drive a foreign car.[8] Media pressure eventually forced her to return the car to Mercedes-Benz in 1992, with whom it now resides in the Mercedes-Benz Museum.[
The car is in exceptionally good condition, has had a few touch ups on the body. The electronic soft top works perfectly. The interior is showing no signs of wear and tear. The car has the original owner’s manual. The R129 is becoming extremely desirable after the upswing on the Pagoda’s and R107 models. This is a timeless classic with all the comforts of a modern car.

Toyota FJ Cruiser 2012 60000KM

The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a retro style, mid-size SUV with styling and off road performance reminiscent of the original Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ40) The FJ cruiser was primarily developed for the North American market but has been sold in small numbers globally since its launch. On 25 November 2010.
In an industry increasingly focused on mild-mannered crossovers, the FJ was as rough-and-tumble as they come. It could go where few others could and had a real presence. Little wonder they've retained their resale value as well as they have.
The example that we have for sale is in absolutely pristine condition and never seen a day in the bush or near a sand road. The car has a couple of parking lot scratches which will be repaired. The car has all the original keys, books and the balance of the Toyota maintenance plan.

The Mercedes Benz W111 were produced between 1959 and 1971, including four-door sedans (1959-1968) and two-door coupés and cabriolets (1961 to 1971).
Work on replacing the Pontons began in 1956 with a design focused on passenger comfort and safety. The basic Ponton cabin was widened and squared off, with a large glass greenhouse improving driver visibility. A milestone in car design were front and rear crumple zones for absorbing kinetic energy on impact. The automaker also patented retractable seatbelts.
The example that we have for sale was purchased new for the Mayor of Germiston. The car is absolutely in stunning condition with its deep black coachwork and contrasting original red leather upholstery. The carpets have been replaced and the car has had a blow over. The car has recently had a major service and everything is in perfectly working condition. You could get into this scar and drive her to Cape Town tomorrow. DKW began as a steam equipment company, the initials derived from Dampf-Kraft-Wagen (“steam-driven car” in German). By the late 1920s, DKW was the world’s largest producer of motorcycles.

This was the first rally car, a DKW that the famous JIM CLARK drove!! On the 16 June 1956 in his very first event he was behind the wheel of a DKW sonderklasser at Crimond Scotland.
In 1965 VW bought Auto Union from Mercedes and formed a new company named Audi. This was the end of the two stroke engines.

The example that we have for sale is  A ‘pillarless’ coupe version, first seen in 1953.The oval grill was modified again in 1957 when the slats were replaced by a chrome coloured grid design. Inside there were improvements to the instrumentation and the heating

Porsche 928S Manual 1981. 103000km

The bargain supercar has finally begun to shine like the 911 it was supposed to replace.

The Porsche 928 is a luxury GT car produced by Porsche AG of Germany from 1978 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the company's well-known and famed 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan. Since its inception in 1949, Porsche has manufactured only seven front-engine models, four of which were coupes, including the 928. The car has the distinction of being the company's only coupe powered by a front-mounted V8 engine, and the company's first production V8 powered model.
Porsche's design and development efforts paid off during the 1978 European Car of the Year,[1] where the 928 won ahead of the BMW 7 Series, and the Ford Granada
The car is totally originally with the chequered velour interior totally unscathed and in exceptionally good condition. The dash has a couple of cracks appearing. The car has been maintained by a Porsche specialist and had the cam belt replaced at 100000km.

The bargain supercar has finally begun to shine like the 911 it was supposed to replace.  However, the time to find a bargain 928 is running out.

They look great, drive well,
The W123 body represents the final evolution of the "classic" Mercedes dating back to the age before the wind tunnels.
The seats have been redone in leather, the rest of the interior is 100 % original, door panels, carpets ect. The paint is extremely good and original. The rims have been refurbished. All the mechanicals have recently been overhauled. All the door, boot and bonnet gaps are perfectly inline. A very honest and original example.

The Porsche 912 is a sports car that was manufactured by Porsche of Germany between 1965 and 1969 as their entry-level model. Concerned that the considerable price increase of a Type 911 with "flat" six-cylinder power plant over the Type 356 would cost the company sales and narrow brand appeal, in 1963 Porsche executives decided to introduce a new four-cylinder entry-level model.
As production of the 356 model concluded in 1965, on April 5, 1965 Porsche officially began production of the 912 coupe Styling, performance, quality construction, reliability, and price made the 912 a very attractive buy to both new and old customers.

The example that we have for sale has had a nut and bolt restoration, the car is a non-matching numbers car however the engine is an original 912 motor. The car has a 5-speed manual gear box which was an optional extra when ordered, it also has the original 5 gauge dash. The car is finished off with red vinyl interior which is period correct.
