BMW 850i (E31) 1990 Model
BMW 850i (E31) 1990 Model
Undoubtedly one of the most desirable modern classic BMW!!!
The original 8-Series is one of BMW’s coolest cars. The company’s range-topping flagship throughout the Nineties, its iconic “shark nose” shape, pillar-less silhouette, and world-class gear box solidified the car as an all-time great in the hearts of many enthusiasts. BMW sunk a full $900 million into the car’s design, which wasn’t exactly surprising considering all the clever engineering onboard.
The 8 Series was introduced in 1990 under the E31 model code and was only available as a two-door coupé. Design work of the first generation E31 8 Series began in 1984, with the final design phase and production development started in 1986. The car debuted at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show and was produced until 1999. The 8 Series was the first road car to offer a V12 engine fitted with the electronic drive-by-wire throttle. The 8 Series was also among one of BMW's first cars to use a multi-link The shape was totally dictated by wind tunnel testing and technologically it had every modern development that was available in the day. The result was the perfect shape that was more sculptural than anything that had been before and of course with the great V12 engine it went like the wind in supreme comfort.
During its seven-year production run BMW built worldwide total of only 30,621 with less than 10 % in right hand drive.
A striking design that is one of the most beautiful cars BMW has been made by many Collectors and Enthusiasts.
The production totals for each model are:
840i / 840Ci with the M60 engine: 4,728
840Ci / 840Ci with the M62 engine: 3,075
850i / 850Ci with the M70 engine: 20,072
850i / 850Ci with the M73 engine: 1,218
850CSi with the S70 engine: 1,510
Something a little different from the norm, both for us and BMW. With that, it's a great pleasure to bring to market a BMW 850i E31 1990 example, fitted with the thundering M70 V 12 engine. A well-documented and highly maintained vehicle with a comprehensive dealer and independent specialist stamped service book and then a host of invoices. The vehicle is sold with the original standard rims.
The car has always been maintained regardless of cost and always by BMW main dealers or BMW approved experts and is in totally fabulous condition in every way. Now of course a fast-appreciating classic car without any doubt.
