The pretty Volkswagen with the funny name--Karmann Ghia--was for 19 years the automaker's sporting flagship. Among the most popular Karmann Ghia variants were the 1500cc models built from 1967 through 1969.Self-adjusting discs replaced the drums up front, while a mechanical handbrake still worked the rear drums.
They were assembled by a team of 185 employees, with 240 Karmann inspectors and 16 inspectors from Volkswagen ensuring quality.
Completed.
·The fully independent suspension has been totally overhauled with brand new ball joints and a lowering kit fitted on the front suspension. The upper and lower trailing arms, anti-roll bar and hydraulic steering damper up front are all new.
·The brakes have been overhauled and are complete with brand new brake lines being fitted.
·The vehicle has been completely rewired and the wiring is complete.
·The floor pan has been replaced and retains its original body attachment bolts. The floor pan has been sprayed with an undercoat to seal the car's pan.
·All the rubbers on the car have been replaced with brand new ones.
·The brand-new interior has been expertly done with period correct new style carpets as well as the vinyl seat and door panel upholstery as well as the seat padding. The headliner material has been replaced with the correct material.
·The gear box is the original 1500cc box and has been refurbished with new bushes seals etc along with the side shafts, drive train etc….
Outstanding.
·The rear fenders need to be polished and resprayed.
·The trimmings, badges and all the chrome parts still need to be fitted but will be supplied with the vehicle and are all brand new in their original packaging.
·The body panels, doors, boot, and bonnet still need to be properly aligned.
·Front and rear bumpers still need to be sourced and fitted, however many of these vehicles had them removed to improve the looks.
· The vehicle has been sold without a motor however there is a brand new optional 1600cc motor available at an additional cost. As the 1967 model was a 1500cc its total compatible to the gear box and drive train.
To summarize the vehicle this is a perfect mini resto project for the new owner to finish the project as a resto mod example or personalize it to their own taste or just finish it and put it back to its former glory without going through the whole restoration process and never getting to the end or breaking the bank.
