MGB Roadster 1974 Model
MGB Roadster 1974 Model
MG (Morris Garage) was set up by William Morris in the year 1923 to market a sportier line of Morris models. In 1952, Austin Motor Corporation merged with Morris Motors to form British Motor Corporation Ltd. In 1962, the successful MG A was followed by the even more successful and austerely but elegantly lined MG B. The MG B roadster and the GT were sold until 1980.The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom.
The MGB Roadster is the quintessential open top British sports car. Almost everyone knows someone who owned one.
It went on to become one of Britain’s best-selling and most loved sports cars, bringing stylish design, an exciting drive and everyday usability to hundreds of thousands of drivers who were glad to switch from sensible saloons to something that put a skip in their step. Because of its popularity – more than half a million were built – many MGBs remain on the road and that means it is one of the more affordable classic cars.

This 1974 MGB Roadster is a fun, fantastic driving Classic. The car is largely original and in terrific condition. This is a great car for weekend and touring use as well as local car shows.
This is one of the last of the gorgeous chrome bumper styling. There are a few imperfections from normal wear considering the age of the car, but the paint and trim are in overall very good condition. The chrome and stainless trim are in very good condition. The interior has its original black vinyl seats and nice black carpets. Seats are a deep rich black and quite soft and supple. The dashboard and door panels are in particularly good condition and have been well maintained. The engine compartment is well detailed and preserved.
And there’s never been a better time to buy. Values are still rising, albeit slowly, making the MGB a tempting alternative to a savings account and an empty driveway.
