BMW 635CSI (E24) 1980 Model

US$0,00

SOLD

The BMW 635 was the first generation of the famous BMW 6 Series and was built from 1976 to 1989. It was called the E24 and replaced the E9 coupes. These very stylish Coupes were powered by the M30 six-cylinder engines and were available with either an automatic or manual gearbox.

This distinctive ‘shark snout’ shape was designed by Paul Bracq, who also laid claim to classics such
as the Mercedes Benz Pagoda roof.

Two-door coupés are always special. The sleek looks marry well with the rarity factor and many are rapidly become sought-after classics and one of the best GTs of its era.

Very few were sold in South Africa due to the high price after import duties were added. In fact, from 1983 to 1984, the price rose from R65 000 to R82 000. Thereafter, prices were not even quoted by BMW or their dealers.

This Henna Red BMW 635CSI has a mere 164000km on the clock with a full-service history and owner’s manuals. In the boot are the original BMW Tools in the Tool Kit. The Original BMW medical kit is behind the right-hand passenger head rest and still intact from the day the car was delivered new. The car is completely standard with original paint, original BBS rims and it comes with the very sought after 5-speed manual gearbox. The car is powered by an inline 6-cylinder engine producing 160 kW or 215 hp. Top speed was around 230 km/h and zero to 100 km/h took 7,4 seconds, not bad performance for 1980!

The bodywork is in excellent condition as well the underneath of the car. The paint is original and has held up well and there are no obvious blemishes, chips, or scratches .All the gaps are perfectly straight, as is the chassis and there is no evidence of any crash damage or repair work. The facia plastics are in perfect condition with no cracks, the car is completely free from rust, including the wheel arches and sills. The chrome trim pieces are in good pristine
original condition. The rims are flawless.

There is not a sign of wear to the interior and not even on the brake pedal shows any age. Upon looking in the engine compartment the inner wings and rocker cover boxes look the same as the day as the car rolled off the production line.

The original Pioneer ‘ARC’ radio cassette with multi-channel equaliser is in perfect working order and is coupled with matching Pioneer speakers the ‘hight’ of 80’s in-car entertainment.

This example will simply not fail to disappoint upon viewing, you cannot help but notice how correct and more importantly how well cared for this example has been cherished over the course of the past 40 years and will bring many years of enjoyment to its next lucky custodian.
